ELLALAN has recently given an intriguing webinar discussing about the IP issues brought about by the increasingly common and sophisticated AI technology.

Shared by our Managing PartnerΒ Alan Chiu, and AssociateΒ Poyiu Cheung, the webinar explored with the audience whether and how are works or technologies generated or β€œinvented” through or by Artificial Intelligence protected under the current IP regimes. In particular, ELLALAN went into details with the attendees on a number of recent cases in various jurisdictions that decided differently on AI’s eligibility for inventorship or authorship of different IPs.

Further, the speakers also spoke about how the use of big data analysis in AI technology may bring up data privacy issues under different regimes.
