We are proud to share that our Senior Consultant, Ms. Ella Cheong JP, has once again contributed her expertise to the Kluwer Law International “Enforcement of Foreign Judgments” (Hong Kong Chapter, 2025 Edition).

In this latest publication, Ms. Cheong provides a comprehensive analysis of Hong Kong’s evolving legal framework for the recognition and enforcement of foreign and Mainland judgments. The chapter offers practical insights into statutory mechanisms such as the Foreign Judgments (Reciprocal Enforcement) Ordinance (Cap. 319), the Choice of Court Agreements Ordinance (Cap. 639), and the Mainland Judgments in Civil and Commercial Matters (Reciprocal Enforcement) Ordinance (Cap. 645). It also examines the judicial trends and policy considerations that continue to shape Hong Kong’s role as a leading international dispute resolution centre under the “One Country, Two Systems” framework.

We are also delighted to congratulate Ms. Cheong on her recent appointment as Honorary Vice-President of the City University of Hong Kong Foundation, recognising her lifelong dedication to legal education, professional development, and the advancement of intellectual property law across Asia.

With over five decades of pioneering impact in IP and cross-border legal development, Ms. Cheong continues to exemplify excellence, integrity, and commitment — inspiring generations of legal professionals in Hong Kong and beyond.
