With the relaxing social distancing measures, ELLALAN hosted the long-awaited in-person seminar (with hybrid online-mode available) “Metaverse, NFTs and IP Rights” last week on 5 October 2022.

Our Managing Partner, Alan Chiu and Associate, Poyiu Cheung, talked about the key concepts and legal issues of metaverse and NFTs. In addition, they also highlighted the relevance of copyright, trade mark rights and portrait rights to metaverse and NFTs, as well as how to avoid potential infringement liability and claims in the commercial sense.

This is our first hybrid CPD seminar and the first in-person event since after COVID. Running a hybrid setting is much more hectic than expected. Thanks to our admin team for the wonderful coordination, the seminar was a big success and was very well received. We are also glad and thankful to have received many good feedback and positive comments from the attendees.

With this successful start, we look forward to resuming more in-person events / talks and hybrid seminars.
