We are delighted to share that our Managing Partner Alan Chiu and Partner Rosita Li delivered an exclusive hybrid seminar for our client Sun Hung Kai Properties Limited and their subsidiaries on “Legal Issues with Generative AI: Risks, Challenges and Best Practices”.
Attended by over 200 participants, the session was tailored to Sun Hung Kai Properties and their respective subsidiaries’ AI-use scenarios and initiatives. By exploring the intersection between generative AI, intellectual property rights and other legal and regulatory issues, Alan and Rosita discussed the wide range of issues revolving around copyright subsistence and ownership in AI-generative content in multiple jurisdictions, emerging disputes around training data and model outputs, and how that translates to the greater awareness required by the various business and legal teams when deploying AI tools.
Alan and Rosita further discussed the changing requirements and challenges in the AI regulatory landscape, including contractual and commercial risks through the use of AI, data protection and cybersecurity obligations, content labelling requirements and other commercial and legal considerations arising from the procurement and deployment of AI tools and services. The session concluded with best practices on AI governance and compliance strategies, and an interactive session where Alan and Rosita shared their insights on navigating the AI and IP landscape.
Thank you to Sun Hung Kai Properties for the invitation – it was a pleasure to explore with you how generative AI can be harnessed responsibly across the diverse business groups and functions. We look forward to partnering with you in navigating the IP and technology challenges in the AI-powered era.
