Our Managing Partner, Alan Chiu, recently delivered a talk on Generative AI – IP Concepts and Legal Considerations as part of the Intellectual Property Department’s IP Training Programme Series.
The session examined how generative AI is reshaping the IP landscape, exploring key issues such as copyright subsistence, authorship, and infringement in AI-generated works. Alan also discussed the evolving legal frameworks across Hong Kong, Mainland China, the European Union, and the United States, highlighting the privacy, cybersecurity, and ethical considerations that accompany the adoption of AI in commercial and creative contexts.
The talk further addressed the growing importance of AI governance and compliance, and provided practical strategies for businesses, creators, and legal professionals to manage emerging risks, protect intellectual assets, and navigate evolving regulations with confidence.
We extend our sincere thanks to the Intellectual Property Department and the Vocational Training Council for their kind invitation and excellent organisation — and to all participants for an enthusiastic and interactive session.
At ELLALAN, we remain dedicated to empowering professionals to navigate the intersection of law, technology, and innovation responsibly and effectively.
