2018 Symposium on Information Law in Mainland China and Hong Kong SAR

22/01/2019

We are very proud that the “2018 Symposium on Information Law in Mainland China and Hong Kong SAR” in Beijing, which was co-hosted by Ella Cheong & Alan Chiu, Solicitors & Notaries and the Beijing Normal University Law School, was a huge success!

In particular, we had the pleasure of inviting the Hong Kong Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data, Mr Stephen Kai-yi WONG, as our speaker where he shared his invaluable insight about Hong Kong’s data security governance.

Mr. Wu ShenKuo, Associate Professor of College for Criminal Law Science, Beijing Normal University and Secretary General of the Research Centre of the Internet Society of China also spoke about “personal data protection in the age of artificial intelligence”; while Mr. Alan Chiu, our Managing Partner talked about “whether data security and privacy are attainable in the age of internet”.

The symposium has prompted inspiring questions and constructive discussions among professionals and students, and we very much look forward to hosting similar events in the future! Do let us know if you have any specific topics or questions in relation to cybersecurity that you would like us to explore in our upcoming seminars.
