Our Partner Charles To was invited by the Futian District, Government of Shenzhen as one of the guest speakers for its Shenzhen-Hong Kong Innovation & Technology Co-operation Zone Innovation Policy Series Seminar last week.  In particular, the Government sought insights from us on how the law and policies should be changed to facilitate cooperation between Shenzhen and Hong Kong.  Charles also touched upon topics such as trademark and patent protection and dispute resolution mechanisms in relation to intellectual property rights disputes and the difference in remedies available in Hong Kong and Mainland China to aggrieved parties.

The seminar also involved the sharing of experiences and challenges in the arrangement on reciprocal recognition and enforcement of judgments between the two jurisdictions.
